You can use the matching process to match an existing 3D model to a photo's context.
To begin, you will need to start a Match Photo session. Place an image that you want to match photo in the SketchUp drawing area.
Move the Origin to the location you want. Move the cursor up or down the blue axis to scale your model. Your model will scale to fit the photo.
Then, reposition the red and green axis. Make sure the Red and green axis are parallel with the model.
Then use the Line tool to draw your model. Your matched photo can be used as a guide to draw and create your model. You can hide your photo after your model is created in the drawing Area.
After you have sketch your model, click the Project textures from photo button in the Match Photo dialog box to project the photo on the model.
If you want to have more details to the model, sketch all the detail of the model and then apply with the photo texture.
Here is the sample which I apply the model with my own material by using the paint bucket tool. You can also place any component you want into your model.
